What is Sooma

Sooma Depression Therapy uses a safe, gentle and drug-free approach to treat depression. Sooma uses Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) method, a non-invasive method of electricalstimulation of the brain using a weak direct current applied to the scalp through electrodes to treat Major depressive disorder (MDD).

How it works

The Sooma tDCS stimulator delivers a weak electrical current to the brain via non-invasive scalp electrodes.  As a result of the stimulation, the spontaneous brain activity and metabolism are increased in areas found to be hypoactive inpatients suffering from major depressive disorder.  The stimulation can help restore normal brain function and lift the symptoms of depression.

The method is non-invasive and has been shown to be an effective treatment for major depressive disorder.

The stimulation is well tolerated and painless. The treatment can be offered in conjunction with other ongoing treatments, such as psychotherapy, pharmaceuticals and other neuromodulation approaches. There are no serious adverse events or withdrawal effects related to tDCS treatment, which makes the method well-suited for first-line intervention.

Sooma Depression Therapy consists of multiple treatment sessions. The therapeutic effect accumulates during the treatment period and response is typically achieved in 2-4 weeks.
